It has been really fun to watch Gabe's vocabulary grow and hear her try to put thoughts and stories together. Since I am so lucky to be with her the most I have become fluent in Gabenese. Here's an example from yesterday. I had just taken Gabe to see the movie Tangled. We had only been home for about 10-15 minutes when uncle D came home. Gabe went running down the hall and said, "Pphhh." (horse sound) and then "Um." I was able to translate to Dane that what she said was "I saw a movie with a horse in it and I had treats."
I'm so glad that I am able to be home with her and watch her learn and grow. Her little language cracks me up! I also thought it was funny that the main thing she remembered from the movie was the horse and the treats...I don't know where she gets it. :)
