Gabe singing

When Gabe starts singing she gets this little head shake and shoulder shrug. IMO, it's the cutest thing ever. I tried to capture the "cute" but only got a few seconds before she got camera shy and turned away.

Gabe singing on the porch

I was out in the yard working and Gabe was hanging on the porch watching the cars. After a bit she started singing and swinging. I appologize as I didn't want to distrupt her concentration so the video is a bit far away but you'll get the idea. This kid makes me smile more every day.

*PS, it's 2 minutes long but worth it IMO. Near the end she tries singing in a high pitch*

Another day, another $

So for those that don't know, I recently took a new job at the University of Utah. It's only a contract job for a website redesign project for the college's websites but it's been great so far. The commute sucks a little as I'm away from home about 2 hours longer each day (3 hours if I take the train) but the job is good. It's been a breath of fresh air actually. It's a normal job with a normal schedule and normal deadlines. Don't get me wrong, I love working at Odin Development but it was extremely stressing running a company. Who knows if the job has potential to become full-time so in the meantime, I've switched gears and just plugging along with a smile.

Our little talker

Our sweet baby Gabe has been working on expanding her vocabulary and I think it's just so cute! The latest word she decided to start saying is "Thank you.". It sounds more like "gank- goo" and it sure makes me smile! Here is a list of the words she is saying and their Gabriele pronunciations.

Dog - (dah)
Down - (doh)
Dad - (da, da-da)
Banana - (na-na, and don't forget the scrunched nose)
Drink - (muh, we think this comes from us trying to teach her to say 'more')
Blanket - (diddle-diddle-diddle, be sure to say it really fast, comes from Daddy saying 'get it, get it, get it')
Thank you - (gank-goo)

This week marks one month of me being a stay-at-home mom. I think I might finally be sort of getting used to it. I have tons of projects I want to get done and need to figure out how to get on top of the basic daily household chores so I'll have time for the things I really want to do like reorganizing pretty much my whole house. So if anyone has any tips please send them my way!
